Custom bumper holding nest for precise positioning, secure vacuum fixation and controlled deformation during automated preparation.
Sattech Engineering designed a custom holding nest for a Ford car bumper, developed to keep the bumper stable during automated preparation processes. These operations included adding the front mask, additional light-related components and other bumper masks.

The nest includes dedicated openings for vacuum suction cups with a diameter of 45–60 mm, ensuring secure fixation of the bumper during handling and manipulation. This allowed the part to remain correctly positioned throughout the preparation process.

Additional space was also planned inside the nest to support small, controlled bumper deformation of 0.2–0.4 mm. This enabled the snap mechanism to lock the required parts above or below the bumper after being pushed by the machine tooling.
